Welcome back FSU!!!

Desired Skin Tattooing and Body Piercing is offering a back to school sale for the next week or two (depending on the feedback that we get from the sale, it could go longer!), so make sure that you make the trip down to see us after you get your classes and rooms in order!

- Tattoos are $20 off (some restrictions do apply to this one...it's a bit tricky, so come in and let us give you a quote on the piece that you want!)
- Piercings are buy 2, get 1 FREE! Get a couple of your friends together and split the cost.

As always we boast a sterile, friendly, and professional environment free of allergens, cigarette smoke, and your typical "tattooed badass" attitude.

Remember that we are a CUSTOM TATTOO SHOP - which means that any work that you get done here is a custom drawn, one-of-a-kind design that will never be replicated by us on any other human being, which guarantees that your experience will remain personal for the rest of your life!

With all of that being said, have fun, do well, and come say "hi"!

hello everyone!

i joined this community on a whim because i was doing some public relations stuff for my band as well as my business and i thought that there might be some members of this community that could be interested in one or both.

i sing in a band called And The Sky Went Red, and though we've never played in the Big Rapids area (we're from Mt. Pleasant/Midland and have toured most of the nation, but not BR!), and i would love to know of any venues were hardcore/metal can be played in the area. i am also interested where any "scene" hangouts might be. i apologize if mentioning a metal band on an indie board is a major faux paus, but i listen to many genres of music and i am hoping for some spillover...you know?

i also am part owner of the tattoo shop located downtown across from JCPenny. it's called Desired Skin Tattoo and we specialize in custom tattooing. in fact, we don't even have any flash on the wall and it's all done in an incentive to inspire people to get something unique and individualized instead of the same crap that everyone else just comes in and picks "off the wall." we also do a full line of body piercing, and i can assure you that there is no cleaner/safer/friendlier of an environment in the state. at the very least, stop in and say hello and check out our portfolios...we're willing to let our work speak for itself.

Indie fan from Ferris
Hi everyone! I'm a Ferris alum who happens to be into indie and punk music. And what I wouldn't give to go back to college and live in Pickell Hall (the 21+ dorm at the time)again. I graduated in 2001.

Hello Lovers!

I think it's pretty sad that the last post on here was on February 20th.  What is up with that?  I think this community is a great idea and that we should all use it to our advantage.  I would love to read posts about new bands I should listen to, concert reviews, ect.  That would be amazing!!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know about a online music magazine that my friends run.  It is called Just Another Music Magazine (JAMM).  I have had the pleasure of doing two interview for this magazine.  The one was with Gabe of Midtown and the other with The Format (soon to be up).  I was just wondering if you all could take a look at it and give us some suggestions on how to improve it, or maybe what you would want to see on it.  JAMM   Also if you like what you see add them to your Myspace.

I heart all of you!!  Keep Ferris Rocking!!

Hey kids,

I'm from outside detroit, in the vast land they call the suburbs (for those that are farmiller, Royal Oak). Its a land brimming with all kinds of great things including people, books, intelect, good food, and coffee houses.

I've never been, but does anyone know of java jacks is cool at all? I used to bum around at Java Hutt in birmingham quite often - open 24/7.

So whats the jacks java like?
